½ large onion, chopped

2 gloves garlic, minced

1 cup green beans, chopped

2 carrots, peeled and chopped

2 celery stalks, chopped

1 zucchini, chopped

5-6 basil leaves, chopped

2 cups vegetable broth

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

2 cans of diced tomatoes (use low sodium if needed)

Combine all ingredients in a pot and bring to a simmer over low heat. Simmer for one hour. Stir occasionally. Serve and enjoy!
