Black Bean Burgers

Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 20 mins | Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 ounce) cans black beans, rinsed and dried

  • ½ bell pepper, grated

  • ½ yellow onion, grated

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ to 1 c whole wheat breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Desired toppings: lettuce, tomato, etc.

  • 4 whole wheat buns

Directions

  1. Mash black beans in a mixing bowl with fork.

  2. Mix in remaining ingredients.

  3. Form into 4 even patties.

  4. Bake, pan-fry, or grill to serve.

  5. Build burger and enjoy!
