Cardiac Rehabilitation

Research shows that exercise and a healthy diet lower our risk. That's why our cardiac rehabilitation programs offer a supervised and monitored exercise and education experience for patients who have had a history of a heart attack, angina, stent, congestive heart failure, bypass surgery, valve surgery, or a heart transplant. A referral from the patient's cardiologist is required to participate. In addition to improving heart health through fitness and a heart-friendly diet, our graduates also benefit from greater confidence, a better sense of well-being, and a community of patients and staff that will always have your back.

Patients usually begin our Phase 2 program about two to six weeks after they have been discharged from the hospital. The program lasts eight to twelve weeks, and most insurance providers will cover up to thirty-six sessions that take place two or three times per week.

Exercise therapy includes the use of treadmills, stationary bikes, hand weights and other equipment. Patients wear a wireless cardiac monitor so that we can see how the heart is responding to increases in activity. Our educational programs combine in-person sessions and on-demand video to explore cardiac anatomy and physiology, exercise guidance, nutrition, medications, blood pressure control, weight management, smoking cessation, and stress management.
